The Young And The Restless Shock: Max Ehrich arrested by police on shocking grounds – one dead

Upsetting news for fans of The Young and the Restless’ Max Ehrich: On October 7, the actor was arrested for battery on a person 65 years or older — domestic violence against a family member, even, TMZ reports.

Earlier that same day, Fen’s former portrayer raised concerns among his social media followers, the website alleges, after behaving erratically during an Instagram Live and sharing cryptic posts. He posted bond on October 8 and was released.

On October 10, his mother Rhonda Ehrich issued a statement of her own via Instagram. “The media and the narrative of my son attacking me is completely fabricated,” she began.

“A short video clip of an altercation that is being exaggerated for click bait does not discern the truth of what did and didn’t happen. The only villain in this is the fact that my son was kidnapped and forced to ingest a dangerous substance…

My son lives a clean, healthy and sober lifestyle. All my son has ever wanted was a platform to share love and goodness to the world. These public exaggerations are harmful to my family. Falsely stating such is also defamation.

“I am pursuing all legal avenues to clear my son’s name and to move beyond this instance where forced substance abuse created these conflicts,” she added.

“In a short amount of time, I watched substance abuse take over his entire daily life because he was kidnapped and forced to do drugs with a group of bad characters…

I struggled as any mother would with the demand to keep him safe as a grown man and protect him. He now is in rehab and he is getting the treatment he needs.”

The Emmy-nominated Young & Restless alum had played Lauren and Michael’s only child together from 2012-15. Zach Tinker (later Sonny on Days of Our Lives) took over the role three years later.

Ehrich’s other credits include Nickelodeon’s 100 Things to Do Before High School, MTV’s Sweet/Vicious and Lifetime’s American Princess.

More recently, he assumed Michael Douglas’ Fatal Attraction role in Reckless, a modern-day reimagining of the ’80s thriller, and spent the summer working on digital soap The Bay playing the brother of Mike C. Manning (Smitty, Beyond the Gates).

“I get some really kind messages on a daily basis,” he told Digital Journal in August, “and I do look at [my followers’] messages and comments, and it’s very nice to have support and an online community. My fans are dope!”

We can only hope that Ehrich receives the help and care that he may need.
