Tessa and Mariah became friends and often hung out together at The Underground. Back then, Mariah was dating Devon and Tessa was dating Noah.

While on a trip with Devon and Noah to a San Francisco music festival, Mariah’s feelings for Tessa stirred. She kissed Tessa and awkwardness followed

Tessa appeared on Mariah’s GC Buzz to play music more than once. At one point, Tessa had a crisis of confidence and lifted lyrics from Mariah’s journal, which caused trust issues between them.

Mariah and Tessa barbecued together at Devon’s rooftop party. Later, Kyle set up a movie night date for the girls on the same rooftop.

Mariah and Tessa toasted Valentine’s Day dressed in their best. They were at Rey and Mia’s vow renewal ceremony, which went horribly awry.

Tessa serenaded Mariah on the fire escape outside their apartment. The two moved in together and everything went well except for that matter of Tessa hiding a flashdrive in a teddy bear.

Mariah and Tessa got high when the punch was spiked at the Grand Phoenix’s grand opening bash. They had a fine time dancing until Sharon and Devon both took ill.

Mariah and Tessa dressed as Sonny and Cher for Halloween. They shared a kiss next to an ‘I love you’ jack o’lantern at Crimson Lights.

Tessa and Mariah said goodbye temporarily when Tessa left to go on tour. She came back to visit, but Mariah struggled when she found out about Sharon’s cancer and lost her job. She then hooked up with someone else.

It took several attempts, but Mariah was able to get Tessa to forgive her for cheating with Lindsay. They made up, and made love, on Tanner Watts’ private jet.

When Mariah decided she wanted to be a surrogate for Abby and Chance, Tessa stood by her and was supportive every step of the way. When Stitch kidnapped a pregnant Mariah and held her captive in a tiny room, it was Tessa that Mariah dreamed would come to free her so they could be reunited.

Tessa and Mariah went through a very difficult time in the aftermath of Dominic’s birth as the redhead struggled with her attachment to the baby she had bonded with while in captivity. For a while it looked like it might be curtains for “Teriah” when Tessa refused to give in to Mariah’s insistence that they have a baby of their own.

Once Tessa realized that Mariah had successfully overcome her attachment issues where Dominic was concerned, and had fully healed from her traumatic experience, she realized she was ready to start a family of their own after all. Mariah was stunned (in a good way!) when her girlfriend told her she was ready to discuss having a baby or undertaking an adoption. Family and friends were thrilled as they shared the news they’d decided to adopt a child.

Tessa pulled off a huge surprise when she lured Mariah to Society, where she had a private and romantic set up in place. Mariah realized Tessa was about to propose when she dropped to one knee and the women had heartfelt words for one another as Mariah accepted, Tessa put the ring on her finger, and they embraced and shared a kiss.

Tessa and Mariah are happily engaged after Tessa got down on one knee in a surprise proposal. Mariah asked Tessa to stand up with her and accepted as she expressed a desire for a “lifetime of us” and to share their love with future children. Mariah later popped the question to Tessa as well.
