The Young and the Restless Friday, September 5 Recap | Y&R 09/05/2025
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, September 5, reveal that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will consider playing spy games for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) while Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) ruins Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) progress.
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis will eavesdrop on Michael’s voicemail to Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) about his new job offer, so she’ll question him and realize Cane needs a fixer.
Michael won’t confirm anything, so Phyllis will offer to wipe the slate clean and repair their friendship if he’ll confess the Cane details.
That’ll leave Michael offended, but Phyllis will ultimately push him to accept the job that Cane’s offering.
In the park, Lily will admit to Cane that she saw a flicker of the man she used to love in the video he made.
However, Lily will insist it’s going to take a lot more than that for her to trust Cane again.
Although Lily will doubt that Cane abandoned his plans and changed overnight, he’ll try to convince her that he’s moved on from his agenda.
If that’s the case, Lily will push Cane to be real with her and reveal what he was planning before.
When Phyllis pops up, she’ll contradict Cane and insist that his plans are simply on hold.
Lily will get fed up and walk away, so Cane will blast Phyllis for making Lily think he was lying.
Phyllis will act like Cane needs to let his dream go when it comes to reuniting with Lily, but he’ll warn her to never discuss his private life with him ever again.
At Newman Enterprises, Victor will give Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) updates on Cane’s AI software and the swindle info that he’s using as leverage.
Victor will make it clear that he intends to score this AI software, so Victoria and Nick will have concerns about him playing dirty with it.
Adam will act like the main thing is not getting caught and will basically support whatever Victor wants.
Afterward on Friday’s Y&R episode, Nick and Victoria will join Adam at Newman Media. That’ll bring a conversation about Cane possibly already having the AI software in the Newman system.
Since it’ll be assumed Cane is using Phyllis for her hacker abilities, Victoria will push Nick to pry info out of her.
Nick will be reluctant as he faces pressure to become Phyllis’ confidant again.
Back in Victor’s office, Michael will give him a heads-up on Cane’s offer and admit he misses their friendship.
Victor will bicker with Michael before ultimately encouraging him to work for Cane.
Michael will realize he’d really be working for Victor and that would be his penance to earn their friendship back.
Victor will call Michael out and assume he came there hoping for this arrangement.
