The Young and the Restless (Y&R)

for Friday, August 8, reveals that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will have a hacker mission for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) prepares for an inside man plot.

In Cane’s suite on Friday’s Y&R episode, he’ll get another phone call from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), who’ll insist on meeting with him at the ranch tonight.

Before Cane heads out, he’ll have a borderline flirty conversation with Phyllis about trust, manipulation and what he wants her to do.

Phyllis will learn that she’ll be hacking into the servers at Jabot, Newman, Chancellor and Winters to “do a little shopping,” but Cane won’t divulge more than that just yet.

Once Cane visits the ranch, Victor will push him to make Jabot his target instead of Chancellor.

After Victor promises he’ll put his weight behind Cane, he’ll suggest they could work together to crush the Abbotts and will ask if they have a deal.

At Society, Billy will tell Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about his tense call with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), who kept quiet about Cane being Aristotle Dumas and bonded with him over Colin Atkinson’s (Tristan Rogers) demise.

Billy will also spill Cane’s grand plans in Genoa City since he’s going after all the major power players to put under one umbrella.

Phyllis’ involvement will also come up during this conversation.

Jack will worry that Billy was seriously considering targeting his own family as part of a Cane alliance, but Billy will make it clear that wouldn’t go against Jack or the Abbotts.

After Jack pushes Billy to accept Cane’s offer, he’ll suggest Billy can score information and help them destroy Cane from the inside.

When Phyllis comes around the corner, she’ll seem suspicious of Billy selling out Cane.

Phyllis will claim that Cane’s offer is no longer on the table, but Billy will clearly think she’s lying and will plan to talk to Cane himself.

At Crimson Lights, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will give Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) updates on Billy seemingly aligning himself with Cane and coming after Newman Enterprises.

Chelsea will understand that Victor has a right to protect himself against attacks and will have no problem with Newman Media being used against Cane.

It’ll be trickier with Billy since Chelsea will want proof that he’s part of all this.

Adam won’t see how he’s supposed to get that proof, but Chelsea will think maybe she can talk to Billy and get him to confide in her.

Since Chelsea will still seem like she’s defending Billy, Adam will feel like she needs to open her eyes and side with the Newman family.
