The Young and the Restless

Y&R’s Conner Floyd Reveals the *Real* Reason He Left Chance– It’s Heartbreaking.

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a second death occurs on Citizen Cane Ashby’s estate, and no, it’s not Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Spoiler alert: Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is a goner. And now fans are having a say about this tragic death which occurs in the July 28 episode.

Chance is a Goner

First off, let’s congratulate Floyd who has accepted a new gig, playing Chad DiMera on Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. So, yes, it’s a bit ironic that he’s replacing Billy Flynn who is the new Cane Ashby, at the same time meeting his maker due to Cane: as the soaps turn!

Still, some fans are taking issue with killing the character off instead of simply recasting or having him walk off into the GC sunset.

The truth is that Chance hasn’t had a real story in months, and some could argue he never really did while Connor portrayed him.

Connor Floyd Moves to DOOL

Chance is a legacy character and it makes sense the show might back burner him until they figure out a solid storyline for him. Instead, he dies a sudden death albeit in the line of duty—kinda sorta.

However, the death will drive story in the weeks ahead as Cane must contend with being in league with the Grim Reaper.

Chance dies while fighting off evil Carter (Vincent Stalba). He suffers a fatal gunshot wound and yet this is not the first time the character dies, so maybe there’s hope for a return after all?

Will Chance Come Back From the Dead Again?

Chance was presumed dead in 2021 then was resurrected when Floyd took over the role. Back from the dead Chance married the Naked Heiress Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) but they were heartbroken after learning they could not create a child.

In stepped Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) who carried an embryo made with Abby’s egg and fertilized by Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).

Long story short, Abby and Devon are now happily married and also on Cane’s forbidden estate when the death happens.

Tell us Y&R fans, what is your take on the show doing away with Chance Chancellor? Is this a grave mistake (pun intended) or a merely a meh move?
