Y&R Tuesday, July 8: Mariah’s Secret Revealed – She’s Lost Everything

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, July 8, reveals that Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) smothering victim will be confirmed while some plans are made for Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) cremation and memorial service.

At the tack house, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will open up to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) about a dream she had about Cole last night.

Since Jordan (Colleen Zenk) messed Claire up so badly, it’ll leave Claire worried that she can’t grieve properly.

However, Victoria will offer reassurance and think talking about Cole is exactly what Claire should be doing.

There’s no right or wrong way to mourn, so Victoria will help Claire see that.

After Claire asks about her memorial service as a baby, Victoria will share that it was a small service in the hospital chapel.

Victoria will recall how Cole read a particular poem that brought her comfort, so Claire will decide to read the same poem at Cole’s service.

Someone from the funeral home will show up to make the arrangements, including an urn selection since it was Cole’s wish to be cremated.

There’ll be some talk about delaying the memorial service until the Newman family can get back from France.

Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will also stop by after getting news on Cole’s passing from somebody he knows at the hospital.

That’ll give Nate a chance to offer sympathy to both Victoria and Claire.

Since Claire left her dad’s room without saying goodbye and didn’t get closure, Nate will suggest sending up a prayer to Cole’s spirit and speaking from her heart.

Later, Claire will share some sweet words on a park bench and invite Cole to visit her dreams again.

Other Y&R spoilers say Mariah will stumble upon Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) giving Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) a guitar lesson.

After Daniel takes off and gives them a chance to talk, Tessa will once again urge Mariah to open up.

Tessa will tell a story about Aria Porter-Copeland (Maddie and Millie Ingle) getting a “boo-boo” on her elbow and wanting both her mommies to kiss it better.

Aria clearly needs Mariah around, but Mariah will insist this separation is for the best.

Since Tessa won’t be getting anywhere, she’ll think maybe they should widen the space between them and make this separation permanent.

Mariah will wonder if Tessa really means that, so she’ll ask why Mariah would care since she’s pushing her away.

In the end, Tessa will relent on letting Mariah handle things on her own, but she won’t be able to promise she’ll still be there when Mariah comes back to her.

Once Mariah is alone, she’ll flash back to smothering and seemingly killing the older man (Michael Swan) she met on her business trip.

The memory of it will definitely leave Mariah rattled.

At Society, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) will chat over a meal together.

Christine will end up ranting about Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) bailing on Daniel to go attend that party in France.

After Danny asks Christine to join him for a night of dinner, dancing and romance later, she’ll happily get on board.

Next, Daniel will pop up and ultimately speak with Danny alone.

Danny will admit he’s going to ask Christine to marry him tonight, so Daniel will be happy for him.

When Danny insists Daniel is going to find his way, Daniel will hope so since he’d really like to find love and happiness again.

As Tessa enters the restaurant, Daniel will look over at her.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Daniel may have more than friendly feelings for Tessa, so stay tuned for updates on whether that’ll add to Mariah’s marriage woes!
