The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Ian Hallucination Drove Mariah Over the Edge – Stranger Paid Fatal Price?
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that an Ian Ward (Ray Wise) hallucination may be what drove Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) over the edge. Did the stranger (Michael Swan) Mariah met that night pay a fatal price?
Mariah keeps talking about some horrible thing she did while intoxicated on her business trip.
There’s also been a lot of focus on Mariah’s guilt over everything that happened with Ian and all the self-loathing she’s been doing.
However, the show’s made it clear that Mariah’s secret isn’t that she cheated.
It’s something more sinister since Mariah suggested she would’ve just confessed to Tessa and begged for forgiveness if she’d had a one-night stand.
Mariah’s secret is far worse, so she’s struggling to even comprehend how she did what she did.
Based on how Mariah’s been speaking about it, it may have been almost like an out-of-body experience.
Of course, Y&R’s been offering up some flashbacks of the gray-haired stranger who extended his friendship to Mariah that night.
It can’t be a coincidence that this guy is an older man who resembles Ian if you squint hard enough.
In the June 9 episode, there’ll be another flashback of Mariah drinking with this man and taking his hand.
This guy was almost certainly picking up signals that Mariah was interested in him, even if she really wasn’t.
Mariah’s reluctance to open up to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) isn’t just a case of being ashamed.
It appears Mariah may be trying to protect them from getting involved in a criminal cover-up.
That brings us to what actually happened on this terrible night that Mariah’s trying to bury.
It may have been a situation where this guy assumed he was going to score a passionate encounter and got an unpleasant surprise instead.
Mariah may have drunkenly gone back to this guy’s room for more drinking and bonding.
If the man made an unwanted advance at that point, Mariah may have flipped out and hallucinated that he was Ian.
This might be a good opportunity for Ray Wise to return for some flashback horror. Mariah might’ve totally lost it once she imagined Ian was in front of her.
From there, Mariah might’ve grabbed something and bashed this guy in the head – only to realize it wasn’t Ian at all once she finally gained some clarity.
Did someone help Mariah cover up this guy’s demise – or did she just clean her fingerprints and flee the scene with the hope that no one would be able to tie her to what happened?
Mariah may not even be 100-percent positive her attack had a fatal outcome, but the whole thing may have traumatized her even more.
Ian has been a total nightmare to Mariah’s life, so she can’t escape him even now!
