The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 27, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will book a flight to D.C. for an Aristotle Dumas ambush while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) cook up a new scandal.

At Newman Media, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will confront Adam over the hit pieces that still haven’t been published against Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

When Adam makes excuses on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Victor will wonder if his son’s trying to pull one over on him.

Victor will eventually make it clear that Adam works for him – not Chelsea.

If Adam isn’t willing to go after Billy, then Victor will be willing to fire his son and find someone else who will.

After Chelsea walks in on all the tension, she’ll speak with Adam alone.

Adam will admit that Victor’s standing his ground on the Billy issue and that they could both lose their jobs if they don’t cooperate.

In the end, Adam will suggest that they need to divert Victor’s attention away from Billy with another scandal.

When Adam hints about creating one, Chelsea will smile over his sneaky solution.

At Society, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will confess that she’s intrigued over Phyllis’ idea to run Chancellor with her help.

Phyllis will still want a face-to-face meeting with Dumas to make her pitch, but she’ll get more pushback from Amanda on that.

Once Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) interrupts, she’ll have a tense interaction with Phyllis and Amanda.

Lily will seek updates on the Dumas meeting that she’s been demanding along with Devon Winters (Bryton James), but Amanda will insist it’s not happening.

After Lily leaves, Phyllis will keep working to convince Amanda that her plan is a good one.

Amanda will finally agree to let Phyllis try to get her foot in the door, so Phyllis will book a round-trip flight to Washington, D.C. Since Amanda will be heading back there this afternoon, Phyllis will want to tag along and hopefully meet Dumas.

After Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) discuss Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) decision to quit, they’ll have an awkward encounter with Michael and Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) at the GCAC.

Later, Victor will show up for breakfast with Nikki and Nick, so he’ll give Michael and Lauren an evil glare from across the room.

Michael will stop Lauren from going over to confront Victor and will briefly wonder if he made a mistake in walking away.

However, Lauren will insist Michael made the right call.

There’ll also be some talk about Michael and Lauren’s upcoming trip to Italy – though Michael will worry about Victor’s feud with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) escalating if he’s not around.

Nikki will basically leave Nick to babysit Victor in his moody state, so they’ll discuss what’s next.

Victor will be preparing for a two-front war against Jack and Dumas, so he’ll hint about relying on Nick’s promise to help him out.
