The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of May 5-9 reveal that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will face a triple threat to her happiness while Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) faces a scary diagnosis. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) also has a tricky challenge coming up, so let’s talk about what’s ahead on Y&R.
First, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will receive some interesting messages and romantic presents.
There’ll be a secret admirer who lands on Lily’s radar, but she won’t know who’s behind the notes and gifts – at least not yet!
Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) may have a different secret on her mind if she continues to suspect Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is holding back.
There’s something Mariah clearly doesn’t want to tell Tessa, so that could create some emotional distance between them.
Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) has been leaning on Tessa lately, but it may be his turn to offer support if she voices concerns over whatever Mariah is keeping under wraps.
As for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), she’ll make more worried predictions about Daniel and the road he’s headed down.
Phyllis just wants Daniel to be OK, so she’ll count on Tessa to help make that happen.
Although Phyllis may not have a lot of faith in guitar lessons being what Daniel needs, she may eventually accept that her son has to do things his way.
Next, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will keep taking some huge risks when it comes to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and what he’s willing to do behind his boss’ back.
There’s the potential for Michael to cross one line too many and ultimately get kicked to the curb sooner or later.
Meanwhile, Adam will land in a tight spot since it looks like Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will officially join him at Newman Media.
That could bring quite a challenge for Adam as he tries to balance Victor’s dirty work with Chelsea’s desire to keep their hands clean.
Over with Claire, there’ll be three different threats to her happiness.
For starters, Victor’s backlash over Claire moving in with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could leave her feeling pretty down in the dumps.
Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will also make some bold moves as part of her secret alliance with Victor, so that’ll threaten Claire’s bliss with Kyle as well.
Finally, Cole’s serious illness could also pose a threat to the happy life Claire’s built for herself in Genoa City.
If Claire faces the possibility of losing her father – especially after having so little time with him – her world’s going to come crashing down.
Cole seems poised to face a disturbing diagnosis once he gets updates from his doctor.
Will Cole find out he’s dying – and if he does, will he hide the truth from his family for a while or come clean right away?
