The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, April 4, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will provoke Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) in front of Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) while Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) faces some Aristotle Dumas alarm bells.

At the Newman ranch, Lily will arrive with updates on Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) swearing that Victor’s info was wrong. Damian denied looking into Lily and Devon Winters (Bryton James) months in advance, so Lily will wonder if Victor stands by his intel.

Victor will claim he indeed trusts his sources, so he’ll present a theory that maybe Aristotle planted the lie and is stirring up trouble.

Lily will also find out that Aristotle is making inroads in Genoa City and that he reached out to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) at Abbott Communications. Victor will plan to keep digging into Aristotle’s agenda and will stress the importance of protecting Lily’s family business.

At Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) place, he’ll fill Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) in on the latest Damian drama. Audra won’t think Victor cares about anyone except himself, but she’ll also imply Nate needs to keep his guard up when it comes to Damian.

Later, Lily and Devon will come over to speak with Nate, who’ll complain about them treating Damian like the enemy and potentially pushing him too far.

Lily will explain the latest Aristotle news she received from Victor – including the part about him reaching about to Billy at his new company.

Although Lily will have growing concerns about Aristotle, she’ll remain wary of Damian as well. The same goes for Devon, so Nate will get irritated over everyone putting too much trust in Victor’s view of things.

At Crimson Lights, Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) will comment on young love in front of Kyle and Claire before realizing they haven’t said “the L word” yet. Esther will think that’s silly and wonder what the two of them are waiting for.

Once Claire and Kyle get past the awkwardness, he’ll open up about being in sync with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) earlier. Since Kyle will think his family’s getting stronger despite Victor’s attempts to tear them down, he’ll make some positive predictions about what’s ahead.

Victor will overhear as he arrives and take some more jabs at the Abbotts, so that’ll rile Kyle up. Kyle will gloat about his imminent dinner date with Claire – and he’ll even hint about maybe getting room service in his suite.

It’ll be obvious that Kyle’s trying to push Victor’s buttons, so Claire will privately ask Kyle for a favor. Claire will hold out hope that her grandpa will come around, but she’ll ask Kyle not to rub their relationship in Victor’s face in the meantime.

Kyle will assure Claire that he won’t needle Victor, so she’ll be glad to hear that.

Back with Victor, he’ll bump into Audra and suggest they can be cordial to each other. After Victor asks about Audra’s job search, he’ll drop a hint about meeting up for a drink soon and discussing her options.

At the GCAC, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will assure Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) that she’s fine and just doesn’t want to drag Diane into her personal drama.

Diane will seem hurt and assume she just hasn’t proved herself, but she’ll hope to gain true Abbott acceptance one day.

Afterward on Friday’s Y&R episode, Traci will fill Jack in on what happened with Diane and stress the importance of protecting their family – just in case Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) really is his dangerous twin brother, Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins).

Jack will understand that, but he’ll still want to tell Diane and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) the truth if this Martin theory is right.

Traci will ultimately tell Jack about “Alan’s” phone call and break down in tears since he sounded like the man she loves. Jack will get why Traci hopes this is a misunderstanding and will do his best to comfort her.
