The Surprising Twist That Might Doom Jack And Diane On Young and the Restless

Jack and Diane are fine, after all. The couple was found to be faking their marital problems on The Young and the Restless.

They were desperate to stick it to Victor and created problems that didn’t exist in their marriage. However, Diane didn’t realize the impact this would have on their son, Kyle.

The couple had to do a lot of faking. Or did they? There’s a surprise twist that could doom their marriage.

The Ugly Truth

Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) proved themselves to be Y&R’s super couple. They defied the odds.

This couple is Teflon tough against titan Victor (Eric Braeden). However, cruel and nasty words were said when they pretended to fight.

Even if it was all pretend, it could still impact their marriage. In his interview with Soap Opera Digest, Peter Bergman brought up an interesting point.

The little surprise twist to this situation is that they proved they weren’t getting along. There might be some truth to that.

Doomed?

Suddenly, Jack wasn’t on Diane’s team. But Jack might have to face the consequences of his harsh words.

Bergman notes that Jack had said some hurtful things about Diane that he can’t take back. He also made some points about his onscreen persona.

“I have two things to say about it. One is, again, Jack is going to extremes,” Bergman explained.

“The whole Nikki thing was a bit extreme, and hiding from their family that they are not, in fact, fighting and all of this stuff — they went a long way to save their son.

At the same time, they were playing this game of pretend, but it was all ad-libbed.”

Bergman feels that Jack said some things “that can’t be unsaid.” Diane might find herself questioning the state of their marriage.

Even Bergman was shocked when he looked at the script. He exclaimed, “Wow,” adding, “I mean, he just went a big step too far in letting the world know that he has big questions about Diane, and I think there’s a price to pay for that.”

What are your thoughts? Do you think Jack and Diane are still doomed due to the truth of some of what Jack said during their faux fights? Or do you think they’ll make it through this? Let us know in the comment section.
