Kyle and Claire have given up the pretense of just being employer and employee on The Young and the Restless.
On the November 7 episode, they even went out to dinner — just the two of them, without Harrison, as Summer noted — and Kyle asked Claire to be his date for Abby and Devon’s wedding.

Aw, what a sweet, little burgeoning romance. Unless Kyle has something completely different in mind.
Marking My Territory
On that same episode, Kyle (Michael Mealor) was surprised that Claire (Hayley Erin) knew Victor (Eric Braeden) was Glissade’s secret investor.
He was even more surprised to learn that pretty much everyone in town already knew. Because Kyle thinks he is SO good at secret scheming and plotting. Well, at least Claire hasn’t figured out Part #2 of Kyle’s scheming plot.
Similars Attract
Claire thinks Kyle is just into her because she is sweet, pretty, and so good with his kid. Sure, those are nice things. But what if Kyle is really into Claire because she’s Victor’s granddaughter?
After all, Kyle admitted that Victor keeps putting him through loyalty test after loyalty test, and who knows what will happen should Kyle ever fail one?
So Kyle decided to put a backup plan into effect. It’s going to be a lot harder for Victor to get rid of Kyle if he’s family.
When a Plan Comes Together
If Kyle marries Claire, then he becomes an honorary Newman. And Victor would be much more comfortable with an honorary Newman running one of his companies.
(Shame Kyle didn’t think of that before he dumped Summer [Allison Lanier], it would have saved him time and effort.)
Should there ever come a day when Victor wants to get rid of Kyle, well, then Kyle can point out that this just might mean Kyle needs to turn Claire against her Grandpa.
How hard could it be, after all? She spent a lifetime being taught to hate the Newmans.
If Kyle were to confirm what Jordan (Colleen Zenk) always said about them, Claire would obviously side with the first guy she ever loved over a family she barely knows.
Victor wouldn’t want that to happen. So Victor better give Kyle whatever he wants.
