The Bold And The Beautiful

After 6-Years of Silence, Hunter Tylo Opens Up About Her B&B Exit

It’s been more than a hot minute since Hunter Tylo played Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful. Tylo originated the part in 1990, with Krista Allen taking over from 2021 to 2023.

Currently, Rebecca Budig plays the character, but there was some hoopla that went on when the torch was passed from Tylo to Allen. Tylo finally revealed why she ended up leaving the show.

Why Hunter Taylor Walked Away

Tylo recently appeared on a YouTube show called The Unexpected Cosmology. “I’ve wanted to come back and talk to my fans for a long time,” she revealed, explaining that she had left the show, but the higher-ups wanted her to return around 2021.

When she said she wasn’t going to do it, “They said, ‘Well, if you don’t, well, then we are going to recast you.’ I said, ‘Okay, all right.’”

Tylo explained that she shared the same manager with Krista Allen, and the two were friends. So when Allen was the recast for Taylor, she remarked, “I don’t know if they thought that might make me mad.”

But it didn’t. Her attitude was that the show wasn’t always fun, because, “You are nonstop expected to cry. You are in constant trauma when you’re doing these shows.

You you literally live end up living two lives and it’s very very stressful.” (Find out how Budig prepared to take over the part.)

Stuck in the Soap Spin Cycle

She stated that she wanted to get her point of view out there because fans would often split into camps that would either root for Taylor, or her nemesis, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).

These online discussions would often devolve into both camps insulting each other horribly, and insulting Tylo in the process.

The actress further noted that she was disillusioned by the repetitive storylines. She would ask the producers if she could do something different like having Taylor counseling someone and having a positive effect on them.

This was because, “all I do is cry, scream, yell, slap people across the face, wish them dead, say I hate your guts to people, shove them over a balcony, mow them down the car. Uh, I don’t know.”

“Why would anybody want to do that, right? Very long other than for money,” she wondered.
