Although Hope accepted Carter’s marriage proposal, it definitely took some convincing.

As we’ve seen with Hope and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) in the past, marriage is a huge step that Hope doesn’t take lightly.

There’s no denying that Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) grim situation played a factor in Hope running back to Carter and embracing this fresh start with him.

Without dying Liam’s influence, Hope might never have even agreed to a Carter reunion.

Hope’s going to be an emotional wreck after Liam’s demise and probably won’t be in the mood for planning a wedding.

The idea of having some joyful ceremony will be hard for Hope once Liam’s gone forever.

Carter will want to be there for Hope, but she may pull away from him as she mourns the loss.

Hope may do some soul-searching in the midst of all this and start to wonder if she agreed to marry Carter for the wrong reasons.

We’ve seen worse soap couples than Carter and Hope, but they’re arguably not some amazing pairing either.

Do Hope and Carter really have what it takes to go the distance as a romantic duo?

It’s hard to imagine Carter and Hope becoming the next Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang)! Hope and Carter are fine together, but we’d say the show could find better romantic partners for them both.

With that in mind, this storyline may not end with Carter and Hope’s marriage commitment after all.

Hope might back out of the nuptials or even dump Carter at the altar down the road.

B&B fans know Carter is desperate for a wife and family, but Hope may not be the right woman to grant that wish in the end.
