General Hospital Stars Share a Heartbreaking Loss: ‘We Won’t See Another Like Him’
We’re sorry to report that photographer and actor Brad Everett Young has died of injuries following a car crash, per the Hollywood Reporter.
While General Hospital fans may not immediately recognize the name, we can just about guarantee you’ll recognize his work. Young worked closely with the stars of General Hospital and, indeed, much of daytime.
And for those who’ve attended the General Hospital Fanclub Weekend, there’s a good chance you met him there.
A heartbroken Chris McKenna (Jack) shared a ton of photos he’d just taken with Young a few weeks prior, writing, “We won’t see another like him.”
And Parry Shen (ex-Brad) took to his Instagram stories to share why Young was so incredibly, beautifully unique.
“Brad Everett Young was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. But the one trait that made him truly stand out in this business, often filled with cynicism, was his indomitable positivity.”
“He was always striving to make the situation better,” Shen continued. “Working the problem instead of dwelling on the negative of a scenario.
He absolutely refused money whenever he took photos of me, was present to help set up at events and simply wanted to help promote my, and others’, careers.
“His excitement when pitching a fun idea to shoot was contagious. He also used his talents and platform to restore music and arts programs at schools with Dream Loud Official. A huge, huge loss. To those who met him at our events, you know. Rest in peace, friend.”
Bryan Craig (ex-Morgan) also took to his Instagram stories to share, “This is never the type of article you want to post for someone you know,”
“This is devastating. R.I.P. to a great guy that always had a smile on.” And over on her account, Lily Melgar (ex-Lilly) told Young to,
“Rest in paradise, my love. My heart aches as I lose another friend. This is so incredibly tragic… My favorite photographer in L.A., my buddy — a good seed.”
As Beyond the Gates’ Mike Manning (Smitty) put it on his Instagram stories, “Way too young. Like your name. R.I.P., Brad.”
And Days of Our Lives’ Martha Madison (Belle) took to her stories to share the “devastating news. Brad was loved and admired by all of us. He was so talented, fun and loved what he did. Rest easy, friend.”
Our hearts go out to Young’s friends, family and loved ones. It’s never easy to say goodbye to someone you love, especially when they’ve been taken far, far too soon.
