Josh Kelly & CBS contract leaked, Cody’s final legacy to Sasha General Hospital Spoilers
General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Josh Kelly (Cody Bell) recently revealed why he went off contract and shared what it means for Cody’s future at GH.
In an interview with SOD, Kelly confirmed it was his choice to drop down to recurring, but that doesn’t mean he’s in a hurry to leave the show behind.
In fact, Kelly admitted he’d like to stick around indefinitely and keep bringing Cody to life.
“I want to stay on General Hospital forever!” Kelly insisted.
However, the GH star did have some good reasons for wanting a more flexible schedule.
It turns out Josh Kelly is planning to film a movie with Chloe Lanier (ex-Nelle Benson), who’s his real-life girlfriend.
That’s going to take two months to complete and will require more of Kelly’s attention. Kelly is also planning on filming the sequel to a movie called The Workout, which is coming out this summer.
With a schedule this jam-packed, Kelly knew he couldn’t keep his contract status and fit in all the outside work that he wanted.
“I just wouldn’t be able to do that if I was on contract; you don’t just get to go off and do a bunch of other projects. And I wouldn’t expect the show to work around my schedule,” Kelly said.
That’s why Kelly decided it’d be best to ditch the contract and become a recurring player.
Kelly noted that when he made the pitch, he was clear about this being a flexibility issue and shared that he wanted to remain on the show.
So far, the new arrangement is going well since Cody is still at the center of a major storyline.
Although Cody clearly has feelings for Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos), Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) has been working to come between them and keep Cody’s focus on the task at hand.
Cody is supposed to be distracting Ava Jerome (Maura West) on Kristina’s orders, but that situation’s getting more complicated, too.
It seems like Cody genuinely appreciates Ava’s company, but Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) conversation about self-respect definitely affected him since he just bailed on his date.
More drama’s coming up in this hot plot, but Kelly confessed that he’s holding out hope for a different love interest. There’s one woman in particular who Kelly wants his character to be paired with.
“I will not leave the show until they allow Cody to date Tracy!” Kelly declared with a laugh.
Bottom line, Josh Kelly is willing to stay on GH as long as the powers that be will let him.
There may be times when Kelly’s busy with outside work, but he’s hoping Cody still has a long-term future in Port Charles.
