General Hospital’s Katelyn MacMullen Talks ‘Snow White’ Haircut and How Willow’s Story Led to Dramatic Change
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Katelyn MacMullen (Willow Tait) recently addressed her “Snow White” haircut and how Willow’s story led to a dramatic change. In an interview with SOD, MacMullen shared why she changed her hairstyle right before Willow’s world crashed down around her.
The idea actually originated with GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini, who suggested that maybe Willow should have a bold new look for the Nurses Ball.
The goal was to show off Willow’s confidence before everything in her life fell apart.
Of course, the Nurses Ball is when Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) came home and kicked off all the custody drama.
Willow eventually lost her children and then lost her groom-to-be when she left Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) over his past passion with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
Once Katelyn MacMullen was on board with this haircut plan, she went to her usual hairstylist and offered up a pic of what she was leaning toward.
“I showed her a reference photo of Lena Headey from Game of Thrones. We just found a photo of her online and she had this sort of edgy haircut and it was a shade darker than what I normally have. We just kind of went with that,” MacMullen said.
From there, MacMullen pointed out that she got plenty of support from family, friends and co-stars.
Although changing things up like that is always an adjustment, MacMullen was pleased over everyone’s reaction behind the scenes.
There’s indeed a certain edgy quality to Katelyn MacMullen’s look now, but it actually reminded many of her castmates of a certain Disney character.
“They said, ‘It has kind of a Snow White vibe and so people started calling me Snow [laughs]. That was kind of fun!” MacMullen admitted.
As for what’s next for Willow, she’ll keep fighting hard to get Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) back.
