General Hospital’s Kathleen Gati Returns to GH, Liesl Obrecht’s Confirming what we suspect is true
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kathleen Gati is returning to GH, so Liesl Obrecht’s comeback has been confirmed! SOD spilled that confirmation and got a statement from Gati about her long-awaited next stint on the show.
Gati acknowledged that fans have been asking about her return, so she seems thrilled to finally be able to talk about it.
The loyalty of soap viewers is something that Gati really appreciates.
“The fans have been faithful, loyal, begging me to return, continuously asking when, oh when will I return,” Gati said. “I am truly grateful and so happy that I can bring some story and entertainment back to them again through Obrecht!”
Gati gushed over how much the fan response means to her and pointed out that she got into acting “to entertain people through story and characters.”
Of course, Kathleen Gati certainly does a good job of delivering that entertainment as Liesl Obrecht.
Obrecht has become a beloved character in the years since her 2012 debut, so it’ll be great to see her back in the mix. It’s been 18 months since Liesl was seen, so that’s way too long!
As for how Liesl will reenter the canvas, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) just set that up with a surprising email to her in the July 11 episode.
Rocco mentioned that he used to be Obrecht’s grandson, so he’s obviously got some Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) questions to ask.
Although Britt stole the embryo and had no biological link to Rocco, he still feels connected to her somehow. Rocco wants to know more about Britt and what she was like, so Liesl is the perfect person to provide answers.
GH fans can expect Obrecht to respond to Rocco’s email and perhaps set up a meeting with him.
Whatever Rocco wants to know about Britt, Liesl will be more than willing to tell him.
Naturally, it makes sense for Obrecht to come back on the scene right about now.
Kelly Thiebaud is set to make her own soapy comeback before the month of July winds down, so Liesl needs to be around for her upcoming storyline.
Whether Thiebaud is playing Britt, a lookalike or even a full-blown clone, you can bet Obrecht’s got some shocking news ahead of her.
If Britt does turn out to be the real deal, then Liesl will get a miraculous reunion with her daughter.
