Roger Howarth returned in 2013 in the role of Franco Baldwin, previously played by movie star James Franco. Franco was killed in 2021. The actor assumed the role of Austin a few months later until his departure in 2023.

He took to social media to thank Candace Nicholas-Lippman for changing his life. “Candace Nicholas-Lippman just changed how I think about acting. I will never forget what I saw last night.” he wrote on a photo with the actress.
He added, “I am just publicly thanking her for that. I don’t really know what else to say. I’m excited to see what she does next,”
