Back in the courtroom, Diane questioned Willow on the stand. She asked Willow if being with Drew or the kids mattered more. Willow said that Michael had asked her the same, but his question was more of an ultimatum.

She said that Michael would only grant her access to the children, but only if she left Drew, and that is what the hearing was about. It wasn’t about her love for children or fitness as a parent, but her relationship with Drew. She felt that it was controlling and unfair. She questioned why she should have to choose.

Diane asked what happened between Willow and Drew, questioning how it all came to be. She then asked Willow, “So your children had no bearing on your affair?” Willow said no, and Diane asked, “Even when you had sex with Drew on the floor of your children’s nursery?”

Willow explained that it wasn’t planned, and Drew was upset that night because of Sam’s death. Diane argued that she put Drew’s needs in front of the needs of her children that night because they were in the room that was meant for the children, and the children could have walked in any time to see the two of them “in flagrante”.

Diane went on to bring up other instances, like when Willow barred Michael’s family access to him in the hospital, taking Wylie to DC without informing Michael, and moving the children in with Drew, also without informing Michael.

Even Though Willow seemed to hold her own against Diane’s questioning, many of her answers included “Drew and I”…Drew and I thought, Drew and I felt, etc. Her testimony showed how much Drew played into her decision-making. She also had to admit that the kids had asked when they were going to move back home.

Ric questioned Willow. He asked why she was petitioning for full and not shared custody. Willow said that she was hopeful for a compromise until an hour ago when Michael gave in to his animosity for Drew and said that he would not agree to a joint custody arrangement.

Willow said she deeply regretted the way her marriage ended (btw, they’re technically still married), but that when she fell in love with Drew, her marriage was already over and she just hadn’t come to terms with it. She testified that she was the sole parent when Michael was in Germany and that, fortunately, Drew had been a godsend.

She said that he helped them move into a safe home and that they have cared for them, read to them, played with them, and made them feel safe and loved. She said that she may have made mistakes, but that didn’t change the fact that she was Wylie and Amelia’s mother, and they belonged with her.

At the Quartermaine boathouse, Tracy, having seen Marco leave, questioned Brook Lynn. Brook Lynn didn’t say anything about talking to him about Lulu and, instead, vented about Gloria and Lois. She claimed she had tried her whole life to live up to her mother’s and Gloria’s expectations, trying to be good and honest, and look where that had gotten her.

Tracy said that it was good that she could now see Gloria and Lois as they actually are because, now, she was free and didn’t have to please them and worry about what they thought.

Brook Lynn expressed her anger at herself for not going looking for her son when Lulu first came to her. She also wished she had come clean to Dante on her terms and didn’t keep the secret because Lois and Gloria pressured her to.

She was angry that she trusted them and that she trusted Lulu not to say anything, and proclaimed that “all of that blind trust ends now”. She was going to remind people never to come for Brook Lynn Quartermaine. Tracy asked if by people she meant Lulu, to which Brook Lynn contemptuously responded, “Don’t you think that Lulu needs to be held accountable?”

Brook Lynn felt that she had done what was needed to make amends for her past actions with Dante and Lulu. She concluded that she should have been more like Tracy, to which Tracy responded, “I don’t know whether to be insulted or flattered.

I’m going with flattered.” When Brook Lynn told her that people know that if they mess with Tracy that she would mess back, Tracy thoughtfully responded, “I love seeing this strength in you, but you need to know that exercising that god given strength comes at a cost” and shared some of her past actions with her father that cost her dearly.

She went on to ask Brook Lynn if “scheming and conflict where you want to put your energy, or do you want to put your energy into a relationship with your son and into strengthening your marriage?” She reminded her that she was “surrounded by good people who love you. I want you to think very, very carefully before you put your energy and that strength toward revenge.”
