Thanks to GH’s Drew, There’s Only One Way Willow Can Be Redeemed — and It Has to Happen *Now*
Shortly after returning to Port Charles, General Hospital‘s Michael uttered what might have been the perfect summation of Drew and Willow’s relationship. “My uncle is a terrible person,” Michael insisted, “and being with him has made you awful.”
It’s a sentiment which which a whole lot of viewers would agree. Sadly, at every single turn, Willow is making a bad situation worse.
Yet again this week, she has put her feelings for (and belief in) Drew above not only her children but rationality.
When told by Michael that Drew had purposefully arranged for Wiley to think his dad no longer wanted him, what with there being a new baby in the picture, Willow opted to believe her current beau would never do such a thing.
“Drew would never do something like that,” she insisted, adding that he “is a good man who loves me and my children.”
Understandably furious, Michael accused Willow of once again choosing Drew over the kids. And it was at that moment that we realized time is running out if General Hospital has any intention of redeeming Willow, whom the audience has largely turned on.
The One Way Willow Can Redeem Herself
What is the key to that redemption? Willow needs to walk away from Drew… now, and of her own accord. Sooner or later, the truth about Drew’s actions will come to light, including his affair with her mother.
Once his various misdeeds are revealed, it seems pretty obvious Willow will have no choice but to ditch the guy. But that’s not good enough.
Who’s going to have sympathy to her having been blind for so long when literally everyone in her life — not to mention viewers — have been warning her ad nauseam?
Sorry, Willow, but we’re not going to have one bit of sympathy if you wait until all of his dirty laundry is aired. Only by waking yourself up and realizing that Drew is a walking dumpster fire can you possibly start down the road to redemption.
It won’t be easy, and nobody’s going to simply welcome you back into their good graces.
But dumping Drew — combined with you having given Sasha an assist when she went into labor in the courtroom — will give you a solid shot at re-earning the sterling reputation you once enjoyed.
