Now, after nine months, it’s time for Lucky to leave Port Charles. Jackson’s exit is already leaving fans with bittersweet emotions.

Jonathan Jackson Leaving GH

Reflecting on his return, Jackson shared with TV Insider that his return was much more than a short-term stint.

“This is back in a substantial, real way, which I’m excited about,” he said, noting that he was especially thrilled to work alongside GH legend Genie Francis (Laura).

Their on-screen reunion was a major highlight for Jackson. He admitted that he’d always felt like he missed out on working with Francis as an adult after her absence from the show during his previous years at GH.

Lucky’s return was a fan-favorite moment, particularly for those who longed to see him rekindle his romance with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).

Fans finally got what they’d been waiting for when Lucky proposed to Liz during a romantic picnic in the park on the June 4 episode.

Unfortunately, Liz turned him down, explaining that Port Charles wasn’t where Lucky belonged anymore. With a heavy heart, he decided to leave town, acknowledging that staying in a place where they couldn’t be together would hurt too much.

As Jackson prepares to make his rounds, saying goodbye to the residents of Port Charles, it’s clear that his exit isn’t the end of the story for Lucky Spencer.

GH executive producer Frank Valentini expressed his gratitude, stating, “We were so glad Jonathan was able to reprise the role of Lucky, even if it was for a limited time. The door is always open for Jonathan to return.”

While this chapter may be closing, the possibility of Lucky’s return in the future leaves fans hopeful that we haven’t seen the last of this beloved character.
