Serious Allegations Emerge in Custody Case Against GH’s Steve Burton
The General Hospital star just got married, but is dealing with new allegations from his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin.
Steve Burton just got married for the second time. But he’s still making headlines for his previous marriage. The General Hospital star was named in serious allegations by his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin. In 2022, Burton filed for divorce after 23 years of marriage.
Custody Dispute
In 2023, the exes agreed to a settlement, which includes joint and legal custody of their three children. They share two adult children and a minor named Brooklyn.
According to a report via In Touch, Burton accused Gustin of making it difficult to schedule visits with Brooklyn.
In the court documents, he stated that after their divorce, his ex-wife asked him to move from California to Tennessee. Then, she moved back to California.
Burton followed soon thereafter. He wanted to be closer to their kids. However, his former wife made it harder for him to maintain a relationship with their kids.
He accused Gustin of igniting a custody war in court. The official court documents obtained by In Touch reveal more about their dispute.
“Sheree has seemingly forgotten how our family ended up in this situation,” Burton stated.
“It was Sheree who had an extramarital affair, became pregnant with another man’s child, and immediately moved him into her home after our separation without informing me she would be doing so.”
Complicated Family Matters
Burton just married his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom. However, she didn’t receive a warm welcome from his ex. Burton also accused Gustin of controlling the custodial time of their daughter.
“Early on in my relationship with Michelle, Sheree began to refuse to call Michelle by her name and instead referred to her as ‘the girl’ in an effort to downplay her role in my life,” Burton explained.

Since then, report have come out claiming he hasn’t been able to move forward with a healthy coparenting relationship with his ex. Gustin recently denied all of Burton’s claims.
She stated she’s willing to work with him on a custody agreement. Rather, Gustin accused Burton of harassment.
“In the past few months, [Steve] has started to message me and accuse me of parental alienation if he cannot get a hold of Brooklyn.
His messages are almost daily and are harassing,” Gustin said in a statement to In Touch. We’ll keep fans updated as more news emerges in this ongoing custody case.
