General Hospital’s Big Gio Reveal: Explosions and Regret When the Truth Comes ‘Crashing Down’
We’ve been building up to a singular moment ever since General Hospital rewrote history to say that, back in their summer camp days, Brook Lynn and Dante conceived a child together.
Now, at last, it would appear that the time has arrived for clueless Dante to learn not only that he has another son but that that son is — surprise! — Gio.
The preview for the week of May 19 finds Lulu watching Lois like a hawk as the Nurses Ball gets underway. Plus, Lulu and Cody uncover new intel about the identity of Brook Lynn and Dante’s long-lost child.
Unfortunately, whatever they learn will come too late to keep Dante and Gio’s relationship from being irreparably harmed.
You’ll recall that the PCPD detective read the boy for filth for his role in Rocco’s alcohol poisoning nightmare.
In fact, the cop was so merciless that Gio turned to, of all people, his unwitting grandpa, Sonny, who instructed him to call next time he’s in a jam.
At this point, both Dante and Gio will be in for a double whammy when the truth about their family tie comes out.
Gio will be horrified to learn that his extended clan kept him in the dark about his true parentage his whole life — and that his biological father is the same guy who has been such a jerk to him.
And Dante will be sent reeling from both Lois’ deception and the fact that he now has a son who wants nothing to do with him.
It’s lose/lose all around!
The conflict between the clueless father and son is “definitely going to make it that much more challenging to have a relationship,” Dominic Zamprogna tells Soap Opera Digest, “when it does all come crashing down.”
And if there’s one thing that we’re sure of, it will all come crashing down!
