It’s been a little over a month since Michael was transferred to Germany for treatment following the explosion that caused him severe burns. Writing the character out of Port Charles was a result of Chad Duell’s November 2024 announcement that he had decided to leave General Hospital.
A month later, the actor appeared on Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast to discuss the reason for the exit and the need to start a new chapter in his life.
Following the death of his father, Duell shared that he’s “still coming to terms” with the loss and that now he’s “just more about doing things mentally, physically” to prepare himself for “whatever comes… next chapters.”
He also talked about having a “few things” planned for himself and how taking care of himself will allow him to be better for those around him.
In speaking of “next chapters,” recently Duell posted three photos on social media to give his followers a sneak peek into one of his adventures — to the Sunset Ranch.
He was all smiles in the first pic, standing next to a horse and ones that followed featured him and his girlfriend Luana Lucci on horseback, enjoying a ride through the Hollywood trails. “We loved it,” Duell stated after thanking the venue for their hospitality.
Fans were glad to see Duell enjoying life and we were as well. And for those wondering if he’ll ever return to the ABC soap… The actor told Burton and Anderson that executive producer Frank Valentini had left the door open so you never know if or when Michael may show up.
