On General Hospital, our favorite racketeer, Sonny, is contemplating his future because of heart issues. His right-hand man and chief enforcer, Jason, doesn’t want the job full-time, so he’s got to figure out his other options.

His daughter Kristina is becoming a lot like him, so she may be a good candidate to take over his criminal enterprise.

But an unexpected guest star may just be the one to step into Sonny’s shoes, as Maurice Benard contemplated a potential stunt-casting move.

Was He Kidding Around?

Benard posted a fun video on Instagram and wrote, “Buddy the Goat and Friend. I asked a question: do you want buddy on @generalhospitalabc?

How about Buddy on @mbstateofmind? I think that’s more realistic. Don’t forget to watch @duelly SUNDAY to subscribe to State of Mind link in bio.”

He was referring to his mental health show on YouTube called State of Mind. And teased his next guest would be Chad Duell who plays Sonny’s son, Michael, and is poised to leave the show soon.

Benard was sitting in a wicker chair outside and began, “So I’m here just hanging out with my, uh…”

Then he started to sing Dionne Warwick’s classic song, That’s What Friends Are For, which was playing as background music in the video.

He panned the camera to his left, revealing Buddy the Goat behind him, chewing away. The actor giggled and said, “Hey! Buddy!” and panned the camera to where his legs were crossed, continuing, “And of course we have Joe.”

His other goat, Joe, started rubbing the top of his head on Benard’s foot. The actor then commented, “He has to scratch his head with my tennis shoes.”

He panned back to Buddy, asking, “Whatta you got to say to the people that are looking at you, Buddy?” There was a brief pause as Benard waited for Buddy to respond, which, of course, he didn’t.

Benard suddenly jumped, exclaiming, “Ouch! Don’t bite me, man!” indicating that Joe bit him.

The fans loved seeing the goats as one responded, “Buddy needs to be on both shows! ❤️🐐.” Another enjoyed the setting and replied, “Talk about relaxing 😎 now that looks like how you do it!
