There’s been a theory going around on General Hospital (and strongly hinted at by Cyrus himself) that Laura’s God-fearing brother is the one who turned Lulu’s ventilator off and started this crisis.
He promised his sister that he gave Lulu a “great gift,” which, in his warped mind, could have been trying to end her life and sending her on to heaven.
All we’ve known is that he’s been oddly interested in Lulu and things started going wrong when we started seeing him hanging around.
And now, today, we found out that Sam died after being injected with too much digitalis, causing heart failure.
Portia’s pressing Liz for answers, and it’s looking like she could end up taking the fall, but we all know she didn’t do it.
And that brings us back to Cyrus. We’ve got the sneaking suspicion that he’s the one who killed her. It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that he popped up by Lulu’s bedside the same day Sam’s autopsy results came in.
Because while Lulu got her miraculous transplant, Sam died in the process. Lulu’s finally awake… for now. But how long will that last?
Because today, she overheard Cyrus talking to the doctor in the hall and flashed back to meeting him… before the coma.
He approached her about her “latest article” for The Invader, presumably, and when she said she didn’t have time for him, he insisted it was in her “best interest” to make time.
And then, back in the present, he sat by her bedside as she feigned being unconscious and let her know that he’d “take care of” her. You can check out the full recap here.
While that could be comforting to hear from your uncle, in this case, it’s got to be terrifying. And seeing as how she didn’t let Cyrus know she was awake, we’re guessing it definitely is.
Because it doesn’t sound anymore like he’s interested in a “mercy killing,” but just a good, old fashioned way to shut her up for good!
So maybe Cyrus meant to take out Lulu, but he messed up and mixed up the operating rooms, and however he prepared to kill Lulu with the digitalis ended up killing Sam instead.
Or maybe he’d meant to kill Sam before she could even save Lulu’s life and what he did took longer to work than he’d planned.
Both of those could be true… but they sound like a stretch. And that could mean that he didn’t want to kill Lulu after all. And still doesn’t.
What if, instead, he’s genuinely trying to help? What if he’s trying to make up for putting her in a coma when he blew up the Floating Rib and has orchestrated all of this to make Lulu better while taking Sam out… and giving his niece the opening to reunite with Dante?
We started out talking about Cyrus’ twisted views on helping, and this could end up being one of them. He’s trying to do genuine good for Lulu. But God help anyone who gets in the way of that. What are your thoughts?
