General Hospital Preview: As a ‘Horrible Mistake’ Is Revealed, an Explosion Rocks Port Charles
You’re gonna need the tissues to watch General Hospital the week of November 4.
The preview that ABC just dropped reveals that — well, as you’d expect — all of Port Charles is grief-stricken over the sudden and unexpected passing of Sam McCall.
In fact, her poor mom Alexis looks so overcome that we wouldn’t be surprised to find a bottle of vodka just off camera.
If we can take any comfort in the wake of Kelly Monaco’s exit from the show after more than two decades, perhaps it is in that she eventually became aware of her and her character’s impact on viewers. Read what she had to say on that subject here.
In other developments, we hear Willow saying, “This was a horrible mistake,” just as Michael is getting an eyeful from the baby cam on his phone.
Is he about to find out that his wife didn’t just kiss Drew once? And even if he does, erm, how mad can he really get, considering that he just slept with Sasha!
Speaking of Sasha, because our favorite jinx just can’t ever get a break, she appears to be yanked out of a conversation with Carly just as…
What the Heather Webber! A bomb goes off! Is that the roof of the Metro Court that we glimpse being blown off against the Port Charles skyline?!?
Before you run off to read another story — it’s Laura Wright’s Carly-versary, don’t ya know
Dante’s Goodbye
After Sam (Kelly Monaco) died from a heart attack on Halloween night, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Rocco (Finn Francis Carr) walked into GH overhearing Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn, who recently revealed how hard Sam’s death scenes were to film) saying her daughter was gone.
Dante immediately wondered what happened, he and Rocco both in tears when Laura (Genie Francis) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) walked in, worrying something happened to Lulu.
While Alexis went to tell her other daughters and Laura took her grandson to the chapel, Dante decided to see Sam. He cried at her bedside, saying it wasn’t supposed to be this way and later blaming himself for her death.
Breaking It Gently
Meanwhile, after Jason (Steve Burton) told Carly (Laura Wright) what happened, he had the devastating task of telling Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Scout (Cosette Abinante). He broke it to them gently, assuring them their mom was in Heaven.
Carly decided to break the news to Drew (Cameron Mathison, who you can catch on TV this weekend) before Jason brought the kids over. Drew promised his daughter he was there for her while Jason assured Danny he’d be there for him.
As for Alexis, when she got to Sam’s apartment and found Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) doing what they do best – arguing – she finally sat them down and told them their sister had died.
With the video preview teasing more fallout from Sam’s passing, like Drew talking to an upset Scout and Jason reminding Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) they have their friendship because of Sam, who else needs to learn about the tragic death? Let us know in the comments.
