Days of Our Lives

DOOL Shocking Twist: Xander and Sarah Face a Heartbreaking Truth! It Will Shock You

Well, folks, the day has finally come. Days of Our Lives Xander has been steadfastly gaslighting Sarah by refusing to admit he had anything to do with Philip’s beating.

And Philip’s been so convincing in backing his brother’s lie up that they’ve finally convinced Sarah that she was wrong all along. Xander never laid a finger on Philip and she’s the only one responsible for destroying her marriage!

In the Kiriakis living room, Xander scrunches his face while on the phone. Behind him, Sarah and Philip wear expectant expressions.

That, of course, is very much not true. Xander nearly killed Philip in a rage. He may be feeling proud of himself (and probably, at the same time, a bit guilty), but that doesn’t mean he’s won.

Still, maybe it’ll lead to a reconciliation! Because Sarah’s about to apologize to Xander, and if she backs down, that could give him the opening to forgive her for lying about Philip’s fraud.

But let’s be real: Eventually Sarah will find out she wasn’t wrong. Xander did nearly kill his brother and has been systematically lying to her and undermining her trust in her own instincts.

If that happens while “Xarah” tries getting back together, they’re just going to blow up all over again. And even if they don’t try reconciling, you can bet there will still be plenty of explosions when the truth emerges.

But that might not be a bad thing. When Paul Telfer and Linsey Godfrey spoke with Soaps a little while back, Xander’s portrayer suggested that, “The more we can blow [the relationship] up, the bigger we can build it back.

The depth of despair, that same emotional weight will be carried into the actual reconciliation.”

And oh boy is there a lot of despair between Xander and Sarah — and we’re pretty sure there’s a lot more to come! Luckily, rather than just jumping into other people’s beds or moving on, Xander and Sarah have been taking the time apart to work on themselves.

(Though, admittedly, there is that building spark between Sarah and Brady.) And that self-improvement could make all the difference in the end.

Sarah glowers at Xander in the Square

“It’s a part of the journey,” Godfrey explains of this separation. “And that’s kind of what makes it fun. If you are fans of ‘Xarah,’ then that means that you’re fans of Sarah and you’re fans of Xander. So just be fans of their independent growth.

” The growth they’re doing may be needed for them to ever get back together and make things work, “whether it’s Xander learning to take responsibility for his actions and learning to deal with his anger, or Sarah standing up for herself” and learning to not back down.

“Sarah has no problem standing up to Xander,” Godfrey clarified. “That’s never been an issue. But standing up and not feeling bad about it, making it stick,” is different. “So I think they have to go on this journey. They have to earn whatever the next iteration of their relationship could be.”

It’s clear, though, that the journey is far from over. Xander may be working on his anger, but with Sarah finally buying his lie, he’s still got a long ways to go with learning to take responsibility for his actions. And Sarah, in turn, will soon enough learn the hard way that she needs to stay firm in standing up to him and believing in herself.
