Days of Our Lives Alum Patrick Muldoon NOT Returning to DOOL After All – Austin Fans Get Disappointing News
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that DOOL alum Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin Reed) is NOT returning after all, so Austin fans are facing some disappointing news. The trouble started when an Instagram video heavily hinted about Muldoon reprising his role as Austin.
Muldoon exclaimed over being in Salem and told everyone that it was “good to be back,” so it was easy to assume he was on the verge of an on-screen return.
Days’ Instagram account shared a caption that added to the confusion of by asking fans, “Who is that wandering around Salem…and why?!” They even added a pair of eyeballs like this was something big for viewers to watch out for!
Unfortunately, it was all a huge misunderstanding. A Days spokesperson confirmed to SOD that Muldoon won’t be returning for actual scenes on the show.
It turns out Muldoon was just visiting the studio and giving one of his friends a tour while he was there. The spokesperson insisted that “the show’s video post touting his presence at the studio was tongue in cheek.”
It’s a shame that Days got fans excited for a return that isn’t happening, but maybe it’ll motivate them to bring Patrick Muldoon back for real down the road.
Of course, DOOL has options since Austin Peck sometimes plays Austin Reed for comeback stints as well, so that’s something to think about.
Regardless, Muldoon’s recent time at the studio was just for a friendly behind-the-scenes visit – not for any Austin story arc that viewers might’ve been hoping for.
