Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that fans are wondering if Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) is really gone for good. Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Horton Deveraux’s (Melissa Reeves) conversation could change everything, so let’s discuss some hints that may have dropped.
Jennifer never felt a real connection with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) despite her Abigail impersonation attempt.
From the get-go, Jennifer had her guard up and didn’t believe Cat was truly her daughter.
In DOOL’s June 6 episode, Jack talked to Jennifer about that and wondered what she felt now.
Sadly, Jennifer admitted her soul was telling her Abigail was gone – even though she’d give anything to be wrong about that.
Jack pointed out that seemingly impossible things happen in Salem every day, so it felt like he was clinging to hope on some level.
Jennifer understood why, but she also argued they couldn’t live the rest of their lives waiting on a miracle that may never come.
Now that it’s almost the three-year anniversary of Abigail’s demise, Jennifer feels it’s time to move on.
There was a lot to unpack in that discussion since it could be interpreted in multiple ways.
It’s possible that Days was genuinely shutting the door on Abigail as a character, but it’s also possible we should be focusing on the “seemingly impossible things” happening in Salem part.
Jack himself returned from the grave when Jennifer thought he was gone forever, so that’s important to keep in mind.
The real point of the conversation may have been so that Jack could acknowledge Chad had to move on, too.
Jennifer agreed, but she made it clear that she didn’t think Chad should move on with Cat!
Cat got spooked after facing Jennifer’s wrath and is feeling guilty all over again, so she vowed to stay away from Chad from now on.
That plan obviously won’t work out since Days spoilers say Chad and Cat will find themselves pulled toward each other like magnets in the coming weeks.
As for Abigail’s potential resurrection, it all depends on whether the show might find a reason to revive her down the road.
Jack and Jennifer’s conversation may have been about closure, but there’s a chance that little piece of hope Jack tried clinging to will be significant.
That’s especially true since there were some hints about Abigail’s survival just before Clyde Weston (James Read) landed in a coma.
Clyde might be able to reveal where Abigail is if he awakens and admits she’s still out there somewhere.
Billy Flynn will also exit the role of Chad down the line, so it’s possible he’ll get a Days exit arc that ties in with trying to find Abigail.
That could pave the way for some Chad and Abigail recasts sooner or later.
