DOOL shock: Finally, the truth is revealed: Rachel Shoot EJ?

While there are more than enough suspects in EJ’s whodunnit shooting on Days of our Lives, this unexpected person may actually make the most sense.

It’s something no one has thought much about, the fact that Rachel (Alice Halsey) was in the mansion the night her uncle was shot.

Asleep upstairs, chances are she heard the sound of the gunshot from the living room, having no idea that EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) was downstairs bleeding out on the floor.

Rachel all but confirmed she heard it during the May 13 episode when, after her part-comical, part-awkward Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party, she ran downstairs to her dad after having a nightmare.

As Brady (Eric Martsolf) hugged her, she admitted she had heard a gunshot.

While Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) assured her daughter it was just her who knocked over a dish and EJ stood in the living room experiencing a PTSD episode, it all begged the question: how much does Rachel know?

She acted pretty blasé when mentioning the shooting to her uncle, but could their be more to it than just hearing the gunshot?

After all, Rachel is as conniving of a DiMera as they come. She managed to keep Ava (Tamara Braun) away from her dad and then kidnap her with the help of her grandmother.

What’s stopping Rachel from being the one who pulled the trigger?

“Oh surprise surprise, Rachel the demon child shot EJ,” one viewer on X (formerly Twitter) presumed, while another speculated, “I think she shot EJ for taking her grandma Rachel (Roslyn Gentle).”

This viewer broke the whole speculation down: “Rachel shot EJ. The source of her nightmares are her recalling what she did.

EJ’s memory isn’t clear since his coma as he thinks it was Johnny (Carson Boatman). EJ was standing when he saw Johnny with the gun. He was sitting when he was shot. At a child’s height.”
