Days of Our Lives

DOOL Shock: First EJ, Now Xander: A Surprise Return – This One Is Trying To Eliminate 2 Heirs

That criminal justice system in Salem really is something else. Vivian Alamain was supposed to be locked away for years, but she’s already secured her release after just a few months and made her return to Days of Our Lives to threaten Philip and Kate. Oh, and plot Xander’s murder.

Days EJ shot Xander mashup

But his death might not be the only potential murder Vivian’s plotted this time around. It is, after all, an awfully big coincidence that Vivian shows up, freed from jail the day after EJ’s been shot.

(We are still on the day after, right?) Vivian’s fully capable of either ordering a henchman to kill or just doing it herself.

She’s clearly not happy about Philip sharing Titan with Xander. As she told him on Friday, the deal wasn’t for her to get half… of half.

Even if she wasn’t in the loop on the corporate takeover plans, Philip going rogue and clearly dragging his feet on giving her anything, may have prompted her to take matters into her own hands.

She can follow through on her threat and expose the letter if Philip and Kate refuse to deliver, but that would mean she gets nothing, anyway. And she might just be that vindictive — but only if she had another plan in mind.

Because Vivian does have a real son: Stefan. She keeps on top of the news. Maybe Leo’s DiMera hit article came out in The Spectator and she read about all of EJ’s (alleged) bad behavior just as she was working on her release.

Everyone would be furious with him right now, she’d likely realize, making it the perfect time to take him out and pin the blame on, well, pretty much anyone in town.

Ideally? Kristen. Vivian would clear the path for Stefan to take over. Surely he’d forgive his mother for kidnapping him if she handed him the family empire.

Or maybe Gabi. Throw her back in prison and Stefan can come back to fight for his family company with his ex-wife out of the way and one less sibling to tussle with.

But then Philip and Xander swooped in and took over DiMera, so it was back to square one. The bonus this time? If Philip won’t give her his half or take Xander out, she can expose him, throw Titan into turmoil and possibly nullify the DiMera/Titan deal.

Then she could bring Stefan back to take over with EJ out of commission and Kristen in legal hot water. And if the deal doesn’t fall apart, Stefan could make a play for the entire merged company!

And if Philip and Kate do, for some reason, kill Xander?

Vivian’s removed two heirs from the equation and with DiMera and Titan now one empire, her half of Philip’s half is even bigger than before. It’s a no-lose situation for Vivian — unless she’s caught, of course. But fear of retribution has never stopped her from murdering before, and we doubt it will now!
