Days of Our Lives’ Peter Reckell Speaks Up About a *Permanent* Return for Bo

Bo and Hope’s big Days of Our Lives return is coming up fast. Set for this May, it sounds like it will be one of the first stories tackled by the new writing team who take over in just over a month.

And it will hopefully give us the “Bope” reunion we’ve been hoping for since we first learned Bo was alive. That could, though, be just the tip of the iceberg.

Days of Our Lives' Peter Reckell Wants a More Permanent Return for Bo

Because when a fan over on Twitter/X mentioned how nice it would be to bring Peter Reckell back to join the other Days of Our Lives vets as a mentor for the younger actors, Bo’s portrayer agreed wholeheartedly.

“I would love to be a regular on the show,” he wrote in reply, “and join the talented veterans there.”

There you have it! New writers, the show’s 60th anniversary; it seems like the perfect time to bring Bo back to Salem for good. Of course, that possibility begs the question of what would become of “Bope.”

There’s no word on if Kristian Alfonso would be up to a similarly permanent return as Hope. And if not, the characters’ happy ending would likely have to come crashing down — or at least be put on hold for some time.

Still, this would be the perfect time for Bo to make his big return. We just learned that Kimberly’s cancer returned and it’s spreading.

Days of our Lives' Peter Reckell leaves Days as Bo dies

And from Shane and Theresa’s quick returns to California, it’s not looking good. Last time around, Bo was able to provide a life-saving bone marrow donation to save his sister. This time? She may not get so lucky.

But if Bo wakes up in time, he could potentially save Kimberly again, and in the process, reunite with the rest of his siblings (both the Bradys and the Kirakises) and remember there’s nothing quite like family.

And that could be just what he needs to settle back in to Salem. The town and Days of Our Lives itself have been struck by so much loss and tragedy the last couple years, it would be wonderful to have one of its most beloved veterans return to save the day once again.
