Days of Our Lives

Why Has No One Suggested This to Sophia on Days of our Lives?

Days of our Lives teen scene is facing a serious problem. Sophia is pregnant. Tate is the father. Tate is in love with Holly.

Days of Our Lives: Will Tate and Sophia Really Get an Abortion?

They thought they had a solution, but then Sophia’s mom put a stop to it. There is still something pretty obvious they could do though.

Best Laid Plans

Sophia (Madelyn Kientz) doesn’t want to have a baby. She has big plans for her future, which include college and then medical school.

Tate (Leo Howard) doesn’t want to have a baby. He is immature and irresponsible, and he just wants to hang out with Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and not take responsibility for his actions.

And Holly wants her boyfriend to be focused exclusively on her, not distracted by some potentially cuter baby.

The original plan was for Sophia and Tate to sneak out of state and for Sophia to get an abortion without anyone else being the wiser.

But Sophia’s mom found out, stopped them, and announced that Sophia would not only be keeping her baby but that she and Tate would be getting married.

Sophia whined about it to Holly, assuming Tate already told her. Now everybody is sad.

Stick to the Status Quo

We have a question. If Sophia and Tate were originally going to sneak out of state and pay for an abortion, why couldn’t they still do exactly that?

Yes, Sophia’s mom would be furious. But there is nothing she could do about it after the fact, is there?

Sure, she might disown Sophia and throw her out of the family home. But, under those circumstances, we’re pretty sure Brady (Eric Martsolf) could fund Sophia’s college dreams.

He’s loaded. And it’s the least he and Tate would owe her.

Free at Last

Tate wouldn’t be tethered to Sophia for life and could continue blithely mooning over Holly. Holly would be happy because, well, Holly likes to get her own way.

This plan would be horrific if Sophia weren’t on board, but she’s as eager to avoid marriage and motherhood as Tate. So why not do what she intended to do in the first place?
