Exclusive: Casey Moss’s Best DAYS Moments Are With His TV Parents
Son Kind Of Wonderful: DAYS’s Casey Moss (JJ, r.) with TV parents Melissa Reeves (Jennifer) and Matthew Ashford (Jack).
For Casey Moss (JJ), home is where the heart is, as the actor cites working opposite his Days of Our Lives parents, Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves (Jennifer), as the source of his favorite memories on the show.
“If I sat down with it for a while, there’s probably some things that I could come up with.
But the first thing at the top of my mind is scenes where my family’s together, when we’re all trying to figure things out as a family,” says Moss.
“Depending on any given situation, when we’ve been together like that, that kind of resonates with me.”
On-Set Family
Moss has found, as a member of the fictional Deveraux clan, a sense of family that was missing from his off-screen life.
“I didn’t have that so much growing up in real life, so [I cherish that I have been] able to experience that on a set with people that you love — because I love Matt and I love Missy,” he explains.
“Whenever I’ve been able [to work with them], that’s what really has gotten me going.”
The trio got to reunite when they were all back at the DAYS studio to film the scenes leading up to the funeral of Doug Williams, which followed the passing of actor Bill Hayes.
“I was so happy to see them,” shares Moss about Ashford and Reeves, who both returned to the show for the pivotal arc. “It’s like I got to see my family again.”
Not to mention, work with them for the first time in a few years. The experience made Moss really appreciate the special bond they all share.
“You know, you can go off and do your own story, have your own thing, because it’s a drama,” he muses.
“That’s what we do. You can go off and get into trouble, cause a heartbreak, or have your heartbroken and all those things.
But when you come together and figure out a solution [to your problems] with your family… Those are the moments that are most special to me.”
