The series follows the couple as they are pardoned by President Donald Trump and return home from prison. Julie Chrisley had been serving her sentence in a prison in Kentucky, while Todd Chrisley was in Florida.

The couple, who appeared on USA Network’s “Chrisley Knows Best” and several other shows, were recognized as real estate tycoons with a lavish lifestyle before being convicted of defrauding community banks out of more than $30 million in loans. They turned themselves in at their respective prisons in January 2023 and were eventually given a full pardon by Trump in May.

Here’s what to know about the Chrisleys and their new show

When were Julie and Todd Chrisley released from prison? Trump pardons couple in 2025

Julie, 52, was sentenced to seven years at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, though that sentence was eventually reduced. She had an expected release date in January 2028, according to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, but was recently pardoned by Trump.

Todd was serving time at FPC Pensacola and was expected to be released April 7, 2032, more than two years before his original 12-year sentence was supposed to conclude.

The pair was pardoned by Trump on May 28, with the president telling the couple’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, that they would hopefully be released quickly.

“It’s a great thing because your parents are going to be free and clean and I hope we can do it by tomorrow,” Trump told the reality TV star and influencer, who appeared with her parents on “Growing Up Chrisley” and “Chrisley Knows Best.” Savannah is also known for her appearances on “The Masked Singer,” “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” and “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.”

Are the Chrisleys releasing a new show in 2025?

Yes. “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality” TV series begins during the wake of the “family’s controversy and upheaval,” a news release states, with Todd and Julie Chrisley in federal prison. It follows the family as the couple are eventually pardoned by Trump, released from prison and return to their Tennessee home.

The release continues: “The new series exposes the raw truth of the Chrisley’s lives — past and present — and the reality is far different from what audiences have seen before. The family faces a critical point that will either make their bond stronger or leave it shattered forever.”

The producers behind “The Challenge” and “Vanderpump Villa” produced “Chrisleys: Back to Reality.” Savannah Chrisley and Chase Chrisley serve as executive producers.
