Todd Chrisley Boasts About Prison Stay: ‘I Ran My Block’
Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie Chrisley have very different perspectives when it comes to their time in prison. In fact, it seems like Todd’s view on his prison experience has changed quite a bit since his release. Now he’s claiming to have “run his prison block.”
This is a far cry from the “suffering” he endured in prison according to Savannah Chrisley. That was likely part of the narrative they needed to push when trying to secure a release. The family had to make it seem like he was having a hard time. Now though, from the outside, Todd is admitting that he adapted really well.
Todd Chrisley refused to get a job in prison
During a recent episode of their revived podcast Chrisley Confessions 2.0, the couple talked about their prison time with good friend Kandi Burruss. This episode came on the heels of Todd’s appearance on Kandi’s podcast. It looks like they had agreed to cross-guest.
On this episode, Todd and Julie talked about how they spent their 28 months behind bars. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum laughed and told her friend, “I just can’t see you in jail.”
Todd told her that he adapted pretty well. “I ran my block,” he shared. He called his facility a “busted inner-city school camp.”

Julie, on the other hand, shared that she “did hard time.” She specifically pointed out that she was in a facility that had no air conditioning. And unlike Todd, Julie did work. She worked at the commissary where inmates could buy personal products the prison didn’t provide.
She worked there specifically so she could get the personal care products and makeup that she needed. The only thing she couldn’t do was bleach her hair blonde. She previously used box dye but then ended up ditching that too.
Todd, on the other hand, refused to work. He told Kandi that he “went there to do time, not chores” and that he refused to work while behind bars. He was probably too focused on making things harder for the employees.
Chrisley Knows Best is streaming on Peacock. The Chrisleys: Back to Reality premieres on Lifetime later this year.
