The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, September 16, reveals that Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) revenge will hit a snag while Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) swallows his pride in hopes of proving himself to Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).

Despite Kyle’s desire to hit reset on his romance and just forge ahead with a new beginning, Claire can’t grant that request.

Kyle will have to put in the work if he truly hopes to fix all the damage he’s caused.

However, Claire may offer a good first step forward.

Since Claire was upset over Kyle warning Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) away from her, she may make Kyle promise he’ll stop policing her friendships.

Claire may also want Kyle to apologize to Holden and work on being less possessive in general.

Kyle’s going to swallow his pride and try to be a better person on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, but more issues are ahead in his relationship.

Meanwhile, Adam and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will deal with some issues of their own.

That’s because Adam’s about to make a pitch that Chelsea isn’t completely sold on.

During Adam’s last strategy session with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), he proposed using Abbott Communications as their AI software guinea pig.

Once the Newmans acquire what Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) team developed, Adam wants Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) company to be the test subject.

Adam will give Chelsea updates on what she’s missed and stress the importance of going up against Billy, who could be a serious threat through his Cane alliance.

Part of Chelsea will understand where Adam’s coming from, but another part of her may think completely destroying Abbott Communications feels extreme.

There are also moral and legal aspects to consider when using this AI program, so Chelsea will have questions and concerns.

Chelsea may also feel like Adam’s vengeful desires are driving this plot more than anything else and grow worried about that, too.

Adam’s scheme will hit a snag as he works to sell Chelsea on his plans, but she should surrender eventually.

Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), on the other hand, will refuse to support Billy’s own AI software goals.

Although Billy claims he won’t have to actually use that software and that the threat will be enough, Sally may have a tough time buying that it’ll really spook Victor.

Victor isn’t afraid of anything, so there’s pretty much no way he’ll give up Chancellor or fund Abbott Communications like Billy anticipates.

Sally may expect that Billy will be forced to use the software in the end and open himself up to a prison sentence.

That could indeed be the case since Cane has a hidden agenda and plans to control the AI program himself without Billy’s knowledge.

While Sally sounds the alarm to Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about the trouble Billy’s headed for, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) may face more of Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) pressure.

Since Phyllis can tell that Michael is keeping secrets, how will he handle all her suspicions?

Can Michael throw Phyllis off the trail when it comes to his private Victor arrangement?
