The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, September 1, reveal that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will react to Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) popped question and a husband promise. Kyle’s evening with Claire will come with plenty of unexpected moments, so here’s what Y&R fans can look forward to.

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle will set the stage for a romantic meal – complete with candles and other little touches that Claire might like.

Although Kyle won’t have time to plan some epic marriage proposal, he’ll still want to make Claire feel special.

Of course, Claire will think this is simply a dinner to talk through their problem

For Claire, the goal will be to hear Kyle out and voice more concerns of her own so they can hopefully find a path forward.

However, it’ll eventually become apparent that Kyle’s got a very different idea of how this night should go.

Kyle will make a big speech about his love for Claire and will try to prove his level of devotion.

After Kyle pulls out the engagement ring box and opens it, Claire will be thrown for a loop.

It’ll be tough for Claire to wrap her head around the news that Kyle’s proposing to her, especially since they just had a big fight.

It doesn’t look like Claire will approve of Kyle ambushing her like this.

Instead of feeling like an inevitable next step, it’ll feel more like a reaction to all the Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) drama.

Kyle’s grand gesture may anger Claire and leave her thinking that Kyle just wants to distract her from his betrayal.

It may feel manipulative and completely inappropriate from Claire’s point of view.

Naturally, Kyle will do everything in his power to make Claire believe in his love and commitment.

Will Kyle win Claire over or crash and burn on this whole proposal plan in the end?

As for Audra, she’ll face more pressure from Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and will finally get honest about her role in Victor’s breakup scheme.

Audra will spill all and pour her heart out in the coming episodes, but will it be enough to save her romance with Nate?

Meanwhile, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will keep secrets from Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), who recently watched his video and found it quite moving.

Will Cane and Lily experience a thaw as a result? Will Lily vow to help Cane with the twins despite previously saying he was on his own?

Lily might show signs that she’s coming around, but more disasters could be looming.

Cane isn’t really giving up on his Genoa City takeover plans, so hiding them is only going to delay the backlash.
