Little People, Big World Star Matt Roloff Announced The End Of His Eight Year Relationship

Matt and his family became known to audiences through the TLC series, Little People, Big World. The series, which ran from 2006 to 2024, depicted the day-to-day life at the Roloff family farm, with Matt, his ex-wife Amy, and their son Zach all having forms of dwarfism.

Matt and his ex, Amy, were married in 1984. However, the two divorced in 2016. Following their divorce, Amy married Chris Marek in 2021. Matt also began a relationship with Caryn Chandler, a former manager for the farm, in 2017.

Matt and Caryn previously announced their engagement in 2023. However, on July 22, 2025, Matt announced that he and Caryn had broken up on Instagram.

At the time, Matt shared, “Hi everyone, I have some tough news to share… Caryn and I have decided to part ways and end our engagement. Life’s a continued journey and this is the right step for us at this time. We remain amicable and will always appreciate the many wonderful memories we have shared.”

According to a source from The U.S. Sun, “The family has been blindsided. They did not see this coming. Matt and Caryn seemed normal and happy earlier this month on the farm. Things were great.” The publication also claimed Caryn was the one to initiate the recent break-up.

Matt Also Kept Fans Updated About The Construction On Social Media

The publication also highlighted the plans that Matt had for the future. Reportedly, he had dropped $1,461,520 to build their dream house prior to their split.

Last year, Matt had completed construction on the mansion, which was built on Roloff Farms. Reportedly, construction started in 2023.

Reportedly, Matt built Caryn the home on the farm because she didn’t want to live in the big house where he lived with Amy and their children. Caryn previously explained her reasoning on Little People, Big World.

At the time Caryn shared, “If we were to have Thanksgiving here, you know, the kids would come in and have that baggage of Amy cooking in there and now I’m trying… it’s really just the emotions behind it.”

“People can get over that stuff, but we don’t have to do that. You have options. Having this giant house, it almost feels unfair, right? It should go to a family with kids.”

Matt often kept fans updated about the construction on social media. While in development, the home boasted a stone fireplace, hardwood floors, three bathrooms, and three bedrooms.
