“I Messed Up” – Chase Chrisley Issues Stark Warning as He Takes Drastic Sobriety Move
Chase Chrisley is no stranger to diving headfirst into entrepreneurship. However, his latest endeavor is a personal one.
Earlier this year, the former Chisley Knows Best star decided to get sober from alcohol. The shift came after Chase endured a setback, which involved him facing a brush with the law amid ongoing family hardship.
Now, in embarking upon his alcohol-free journey, Chase was inspired to create Gold Drop. The new alcohol-free sparkling water offers a crisp flavor profile while also allowing those who want to be social a smarter alternative to sip from. It boasts 0% alcohol and zero added sugar, making for zero regrets after consumption.
“It’s been in the making for quite some time, honestly. Obviously, I’ve had my difficulty [and] my struggle with alcohol. It makes the highs, highs and it makes the lows, lower,” the Chase Chrisley Collection founder, 29, tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“I think that going through what we went through with my family, and then my personal journey, and my struggles, it’s time for me just to put alcohol down,” he says, referencing parents Todd and Julie Chrisley’s former imprisonment. “We just don’t agree with each other.”
For Chase, it was important to create a product that possessed health benefits while still allowing consumers to have safe fun.
“I wanted to put a product out there that’s zero alcohol, it’s good for you and has all-natural things from the earth,” he explains. “There’s no additives in it. And, it’s a sexy can. So, you can still be out, and you can still drink, you can drink this, and it’d be a healthy alternative.”
“So, maybe some people don’t have to make the same mistakes that I did,” he adds.

Chase also believes the “quality” of his seltzer offerings will “speak for itself.”
“My goal with Gold Drop was to give somebody a healthy opportunity to still have fun, and look like they’re having fun again, without the negative impacts of alcohol,” he says. “But there’s nothing really sexy to hold in your hand that’s not an alcoholic beverage. So I think that’s very appealing to me. Also, it tastes amazing.”
At the time of launch, consumers can enjoy three flavor offerings: clementine, lemon lime and dragon fruit.

Looking to the future, Chase, who also owns a roofing business, says he’s “definitely” considering how he can expand the brand down the road.
“I’m my father’s son, so I’m definitely thinking about it,” he shares.
Chase explains how his sobriety journey began, and one of the people he credits for keeping him on the right track.
“Emotionally, I got tired,” he admits of his past drinking habits.
“I got to a point where I was just like, ‘The only person I was hurting was myself.’ It was also disappointing to people that love and care about me the most,” he continues. “But at the end of the day, you have to do it for yourself.”

However, Chase says his girlfriend of two years, Jodi Laine Fournerat, was a big motivator for him to quit drinking altogether.
“I’ve never been with a woman that has the work ethic that she has. So honestly, it was refreshing for me to see,” he says. “And honestly, she’s a big reason why I quit drinking, too, because I mean, without her support throughout the last two years of my parents being gone, I really don’t know where I would be, if I would even be here.”
