R.I.P., [Spoiler]: Young & Restless Quietly Lays to Rest a Veteran Actor’s Character
Things are changing fast these days over at The Young and the Restless. First, we found out that Billy Flynn is playing Aristotle Dumas. (See the new pics from his party here.)
Then, we found out that Dumas is really Cane Ashby, the character previously played by Daniel Goddard (who is now Professor Henry Dalton on General Hospital).
Then, we found out that Conner Floyd, aka Chance, is moving to Days of Our Lives to take over Flynn’s role of Chad.
And it turned out that the show was just getting warmed up!
In the June 23 episode of Young & Restless (recapped here), Cane disclosed to Victor, of all people, that his father Colin Atkinson had died six months ago.
What’s more, we learned that as the villain had neared the end, illness had changed his perspective — to the point that he and Cane had been able to make peace.
General Hospital legend Tristan Rogers (Robert) originated the role of Colin in late 2010, you’ll recall, and spent the next few years front and center in Genoa City.
Not only did the conniver woo and wed Jill Abbott, he was reunited with former wife Genevieve (General Hospital star Genie Francis) and committed one crime (insurance fraud) after another (he blackmailed Devon) after another (he kidnapped Cane and Lily’s twins). He even sexually harassed Esther!
