General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that a theory has emerged on social media – one that could rely on the classic soap trope of finding a long-lost child. GH writers certainly love working that angle, so it’s easy to see why some viewers might think another long-lost kid story is on the way.
Kai Taylor’s (Jens Austin Astrup) life was thrown into turmoil thanks to a career-ending football injury.
It was Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) who emerged as Kai’s hero and offered him a second chance through a cutting-edge procedure.
Of course, that surgery didn’t work well enough for Kai to play again, but it did improve his condition.
Kai doesn’t blame Drew for anything and is glad to know he exhausted all options.
Now Drew is giving Kai another path forward through a paid internship position.
Despite all the Drew naysayers – including Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) – Kai has clearly put Congressman Cain up on a pedestal.
Drew seems fixated on helping Kai and molding him into the person he wants him to be.
Kai is also drawn to Drew in a way that seems almost bizarre, so there’s been social media speculation that Drew might be revealed as his biological father!
No one can rule out a twist like that, especially since GH writers haven’t taken the time to develop an on-screen family for Kai.
If Kai is going to be a relevant character who sticks around, he honestly needs a bigger tie to Port Charles.
That said, long-lost child stories have become a bit overdone in recent years, so many viewers are against giving Drew and Kai a family link.
Since Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) was revealed as Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) now grown son, the show might be wary of telling a similar storyline so soon with Drew and Kai.
Plus, Drew has enough going on without adding a kid he never knew about to the mix!
In other words, there may not be any need for concerns about a surprise Daddy Drew story – at least not right now.
Nevertheless, General Hospital spoilers say Kai will remain tangled up in Drew’s orbit, so stay tuned for updates on how that news will affect his relationship with Trina.
