The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless Friday, June 20 Recap | Y&R June 20 Recap

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, June 20, reveals that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will wonder if Aristotle Dumas (Billy Flynn) is sure this is how he wants to handle things. Dumas will insist this is how he wants it and will argue that he’s come too far to back out now.

Meanwhile, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will keep dropping ominous hints to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in their train car, but he won’t be worried about Dumas being a real threat.

Once Carter (Vincent Stalba) updates Nikki and Victor on Dumas’ arrival in Nice, he’ll get them to join the others in the center of the maze.

All the partygoers will continue to speculate about Dumas and whether he’ll actually show his face.

Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) will acknowledge that it’s the first time his former boss has ever done anything like this since he’s usually so discreet.

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will keep up their flirty banter, so Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will complain to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and become even more convinced they need to get Kyle away from her.

Back with Damian, he’ll quiz Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) about the nature of their relationship.

Although Sharon and Nick have been travel partners lately, they’ll assure Damian that they’re just good friends.

After Amanda approaches Lily and asks her to step away privately, it’ll leave Damian and Devon Winters (Bryton James) wondering what’s going on.

Amanda will lead Lily through the maze and admit that Dumas wants to speak with her alone.

Lily won’t get why he wants to talk to her away from all the others and will find all this highly suspicious.

Amanda will push for a little trust and promise that Lily will get all the answers she’s looking for.

After Amanda leads Lily to Dumas, she’ll give them some privacy.

Dumas will have his back turned to Lily as she suggests it’s nice to finally meet him. That’s when Dumas will turn around and give Lily a huge shock.

Lily will recognize Dumas as her ex-husband, Cane Ashby, so she’ll ask what he’s doing there and why he’s pretending to be Dumas.

Cane won’t want Lily to blame Amanda since she was just carrying out his wishes.

Lily will assume Cane is pulling some stunt and won’t be happy about him doing it tonight of all nights.

Cane will admit the charade is far more elaborate since he’s been the one behind the Dumas alias the whole time.

The name was a lie, but Cane will insist Dumas was all him. It’s just that Cane had to keep everything separate to forge this new path.

As it sinks in for Lily, she’ll struggle to understand how Cane became a billionaire in six years.

Lily will fume over Cane’s double life and wonder if he forced their kids to lie, but Cane will insist he’d never do that.

Cane will promise to answer all Lily’s questions and walk her through everything, but he’ll want to wait until after he reveals himself to the others.

Lily will ultimately get fed up and bolt through the maze, but she’ll have a bit of a panic attack when she can’t find her way.

After Lily calls for help, Devon and Damian will rush to find her.

Lily will confirm that Cane is Dumas, so Damian and Devon will struggle to wrap their heads around that news on Friday’s Y&R episode.

As for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), she’ll try to follow Amanda and Lily, but Amanda will ultimately block her from trying to meet Dumas ahead of the rest of the group.

Back at the center of the maze, Victor will admit to Nikki that Dumas’ private Lily meeting confirms his suspicions about the man’s identity.

There’ll be concerns among the rest of the group since Lily met with Dumas alone and then sounded all panicked in the maze.

Amanda will promise that Lily has nothing to fear and that goes for the rest of them, too.

Just when some of the partygoers are ready to leave, Cane will show up and thank everyone for coming. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will immediately wonder what Cane is doing there.

“Everyone, this is Cane Ashby,” Victor will declare. “He’s been using the name Aristotle Dumas for the last six years, haven’t you, Ashby?”

Cane will question how Victor knew and when he realized, but Victor will put the focus on what everyone wants to know now: “What the hell do you want from us?”
