Very Shocking Update: Chloe Chrisley reveals that Todd and Julie adopting her was the “best day” of her life.
In the latest episode of the Unlocked podcast, Chloe Chrisley opened up about one of the most significant moments in her life—the day her grandparents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, officially adopted her.
Chloe, the biological daughter of Todd’s estranged son Kyle Chrisley and his ex, Angela Johnson, fondly remembered the day in 2016 when her adoption was finalized.
“It was a good day. The best day ever,” Chloe said, reflecting on the special moment. She vividly recalled every detail of that memorable day, including missing part of school to attend the court hearing.
The family marked the occasion with a celebratory breakfast, with Chloe noting how nervous she was about being late for school.
“I was scared to go eat breakfast because I thought I’d be late for school,” Chloe admitted.
“But then I was like, ‘I should go because I haven’t eaten breakfast, but then I should go to school because I need to do my school work.’ But we didn’t even do anything that day because it was a pajama day.”
Chloe, who was around five years old at the time, also shared a humorous detail about the day.
After returning to school following the adoption proceedings, she had dressed in a onesie for the theme-day but had to change into something else. “
I brought a onesie. And my clothes underneath were a dress, so I had to go change in the bathroom,” she chuckled.
For the Chrisley family, the adoption day was an emotional occasion. Savannah, Chloe’s older sister, recalled how happy everyone was, with her father, Todd, especially moved.
“I will never forget that day,” Savannah said. “I remember you were just so happy and dad was just sobbing.”
The adoption not only solidified Chloe’s bond with Todd and Julie, but it also provided her with a sense of stability and love, something she cherishes deeply.
Despite the ongoing legal battles the Chrisleys have faced—Todd and Julie were sentenced to prison for federal fraud charges and have been navigating their own legal difficulties, with Todd scheduled to be released in 2033—Chloe feels nothing but warmth and security from her grandparents.
When Savannah asked if Todd and Julie made her feel loved and safe, Chloe answered with a simple yet heartfelt response: “Yes.” She later reiterated her deep connection to them, saying, “They’re my parents.”
