Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest the preview for the week of May 26 was just released, and the promo offers some explosive moments, but also some sad ones.

From the looks of it, some important people in John Black’s life will be saying a heartbreaking goodbye as the Peacock soap pays tribute to a legendary character and iconic actor in the late Drake Hogestyn.

Still, before we get to John’s goodbyes and some familiar faces that are slated to return, let’s talk about the opening of the Days weekly preview, which spotlights Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) with her daughter, Rachel Black (Alice Halsey), in the DiMera living room.

Rachel tells Kristen that the night ‘Uncle EJ’ (DiMera – Dan Feuerriegel) was shot, Johnny (DiMera – Carson Boatman) was there.

The child goes on to tell her mom that the two were fighting, and Johnny had a gun.

Will Rachel spill the beans on Johnny, and what will Kristen do with this information?

Meanwhile, across town, Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) will make it clear to Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) that she’ll do “anything” to protect her granddaughter, which has Xander questioning if Maggie has threatened him.

As the scenes shift, it appears that Maggie has made good on her warning.

A clip is shown of Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) placing Xander under arrest at the hospital for the assault of Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier), as Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) watch on.

The last part of the DOOL preview for the week of May 26-30 is dedicated to John, as clips are shown of loved ones saying goodbye.

The first one is of John, bandaged up in the hospital, with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) in his bed with him.

As scenes shift, a clip is shown of Abe Carver (James Reynolds) saying, “We’re family, John”, and then of Kayla, crying as she hugs Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols).

There’s also a scene of Marlena with Paul Narita (Christopher Sean) at John’s bedside, then one of Brady next to John’s hospital bed.

As the video continue, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) is crying over John, while Carrie Brady (Christie Clark) is locked in an embrace with Marlena as they both are emotional.

Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) will return to Salem and talk to John, and Belle Black (Martha Madison) is also shown by her dad’s side.

Meanwhile, Marlena is shown telling Kayla that, “Family is who sits in your heart, who brings you to life, who makes it worthwhile.”

A scene shifts to John’s best friend Steve, prays for him, saying, “Please help my partner”, as he looks above for help and support.

The preview ends with a shot of Marlena and John, cozied up in his hospital bed as she states, “Don’t leave us now.”

Days of Our Lives spoilers note that, unfortunately, the time has come for John’s exit storyline, and fans better stock up on tissues for the next two weeks, as one of the biggest characters on the soap ends his run.
