General Hospital’s ‘Austin’ Is Back — With More Stories Than You Can Imagine
Not many actors can say that they’ve played three very different characters on one soap but when it comes to Roger Howarth, he did just that on and off on General Hospital from 2012 to 2023.
First there was Llanview’s Todd, a crossover from sister soap One Life to Live, then he stepped into the shoes of Franco, previously played by James Franco and finally, Austin.
As viewers know, his last two alter egos were murdered. So unless the ABC soap comes up with another back-from-the-dead storyline, well, we likely won’t see Howarth back as those characters.
And while fans can hope that maybe he’ll return in a new role, no such plans have been made… However, they will get to see the actor in person at a fun event where stories of his daytime career will be told
Howarth, who shared the news on his Instagram story, will be front and center for a special “storytelling and lunch” on Sunday, March 23.
The event will begin at 11:00 am at Uncle Vinnie’s Comedy Club at 518 Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Those in attendance will enjoy lunch with the actor as he tells stories from years past. Tickets are $96.95 and can be purchased today.

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Austin Gatlin-Holt’s (Roger Howarth) fatal mystery is on the verge of being solved, so Roger Howarth’s character is finally getting justice.
GH fans know Austin met a grim fate back in November 2023, but the show never revealed who eliminated him.
Of course, many fans suspected Cyrus might’ve taken Austin out or had someone else do it for him, but there was never any confirmation.
Plenty of viewers were starting to wonder if deceased Austin was just going to fade into oblivion and if the mystery would remain unsolved.
However, it now looks like Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) might be the reason Austin gets justice.
If all goes well, Josslyn will hopefully investigate Cyrus’ hideout, which used to belong to Austin. That’s what Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) is counting on now that he’s putting Josslyn to the test.
We know Josslyn is on the hunt for incriminating evidence, so she could potentially find what Austin planned to turn over to the cops before his demise.
Austin scored an immunity deal and promised to reveal the name of his boss to the PCPD along with criminal proof against him.
Unfortunately, Austin never got a chance to reveal Cyrus was the person he worked for or deliver that proof.
Since Austin was wiped off the map soon after making that deal, the timing was obviously suspicious
