General Hospital Spoilers reveal Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) is likely to part ways with her family soon.
Having joined the hit sudser in the summer of 1977, no one could have predicted the rise to fame Leslie Charleson would find in Port Charles.
With her recent passing, it makes sense that Monica’s death may soon play a role in the Quartermaine storyline — which will extend well beyond the walls of the Quartermaine mansion. But how will Monica die, and how will people say their goodbyes?
Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow
We’ve said goodbye to one too many GH cast members as of late. Our favorite characters have moved on, and the same can be said of Charleson. Her death will leave a mark on the Quartermaine family that is likely to span generations.
So far, there is no mention of Monica’s health deteriorating on the soap, but filming takes place several weeks in advance of air dates.
So that tracks. When it comes time for Monica to pass away, it’s anyone’s guess whether it will be sudden or a slow decline, and whether it’ll be an emergency event or something more peaceful.
We’re suspecting they’ll go the way of peacefully passing away in her sleep, but you never know.
Hint Jason Morgan Likely Plays A Pivotal Role
One might claim that Monica’s spirit is at rest knowing Jason is back where she always thought he belonged, but some fans are questioning whether the mob enforcer may find himself in the shoes of a whole new career soon — leaving the mob behind.
If that takes place, it may make sense for Monica to finally move on from such an ill state, knowing that her son is going to be okay and she can go.
Jason has been rather sentimental since his return to Port Charles after being forced to work as an informant for the FBI. Monica, you boy is home at last, and it looks like he’s here to stay.
The Last Word
We’d also love to think that Monica’s last moments might be spent doing something she truly loves: getting under Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliott) skin.
Will these two sisters-in-law have it out, per Tracy’s rendition of their epic last battle? It’s hard to say, but start buying the Kleenex and prepare for the flashbacks, which are sure to include some other sorely missed members of the Q clan. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
